Precinct 2 – Old Town South – County Delegate Candidate Statements

Eric Hermann

I live in and love southern Old Town.   I moved here a decade ago and treasure the fact that we can walk uphill to the great outdoors and downhill to dinner.  As a board member of Park City Hospital, a full time businessman, and avid skier, hiker, and biker, I recognize that Park City is truly unique. I am a lifelong Democrat and support Roger Armstrong for County Council – he has worked thoughtfully and tirelessly for all of us.  With many years of service on the Council and his legal training and experience, Roger is the person we need at this time of health and economic crisis.

I’m an Old Town resident, an owner of two small businesses, and a co-founder of civic engagement initiative Future Park City. I intend to support candidates capable of, not only navigating, but also hardline leading on our more complex issues including big development, growth, traffic, transit and affordable housing. Roger Armstrong brings a proven set of leadership skills I am so grateful for in the face of every challenge we are currently dealing with, and his regional reach and relationships are invaluable. Malena Stevens builds upon her Snyderville Planning Commission and community advocacy experience with nuance, perspective and the ability to reach the stakeholder groups across Summit County whose participation is required if we are to advance on social equity as a community. Both candidates understand our big picture challenges and are poised to help Summit County operate from a position of increased strength. I am happy to share more about why I support Roger and Malena with anyone who is interested. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi.  I would be honored to be one of the County Convention delegates from Old Town South Precinct.  I’ve lived on Woodside since 2012 when a long-planned dream of retiring in Park City came true.  Since then, I’ve been the Precinct Chair for Old Town South, served a term on the Summit Dems Executive Committee, and campaigned for numerous Summit County Democrats.  I’m also the League of Women Voters Leader for the Summit-Wasatch Unit.

I do not intend to declare my intent to vote for any particular candidate running for County Office at this time.  It seems appropriate to me, for the precinct delegates we select to give all the County Candidates a chance to present themselves between now and the County Convention.  If I am elected one of the delegates from our Precinct, I will reach out to discuss with you the candidates & their qualifications; and to gain your insights & preferences so that I may represent you fairly.

Sincerely, Jill
