My name is Thomas Cooke, and I am seeking your support to represent voting precinct 38- Highland Estates East, as a County Delegate.
I moved to Summit County in 1993, and have lived in various places within the community such as Racquet Club condos, Fireside apartments, and on Willow Creek Way in Canyons Village. My wife and I moved to our current house in 2000, and we have been here ever since. We raised a daughter who spent her K-5th grade years walking and riding her bike to Trailside Elementary. We truly value the community we are a part of.
As a resident who chose this area as my home 27 years ago for the small town feel, the abundance of world class mountain recreation, and wide open spaces, I have many times found myself worried about how the growth of our community, and increased popularity as a four season resort destination stand to present unique challenges for the future that will compromise so many of the things we all love about this place.
I know we can’t get in the hot tub time machine and go back to the early nineties, but I do think the perspective of having been here for this long fuels my fire to fight for the community, something I have tried to do over the course of my first 3 year term serving on the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission. I hope you will support me.

I have been a life-long Democrat. The first year 18 year-olds were allowed to vote, as an 18-year-old, I served as a polling judge. I may not have been the youngest judge in the state of Utah that year but I was a contender. That year I voted for George McGovern against Richard Nixon. Over the years I have been a county and state delegate many times both In Salt Lake and Summit Counties. I am a native Utahn and have lived in Park City since ’93.
As a precinct 38 county delegate, I would support Canice Harte and Roger Armstrong for the contested County Council seats. It should go without saying that I think all of us should do what we can to defeat Trump.
