I am a 29 year resident of Park City and was one of the founding members of CARG (Citizens Allied for Responsible Growth) during the 1990s. I served for 7 years on the Park City Recreation Advisory Board and was actively involved with getting the ice rink, bike park, and expanded skateboard park built. I am the founder of the Young Riders Mountain Bike program. As an active user, and advocate for open space and recreational opportunities, I believe it is crucial that we find a balance between our continued growth and the way of life that attracts so many people to this area. I believe the best way to achieve this is to elect diverse and open-minded people who will actively listen to their constituents and come up with creative and balanced options. I am concerned about the current relationship between Park City and the county and I feel we need people who come to this situation with a fresh perspective and outlook. As the county grows and comes under increased pressure to handle our expanding population, we need the city and the county to work together and help each other to solve problems that both entities are facing.
